Huma Bhabha
COLLECTOR CIRCLE wants to congratulate Mary Mattingly, Sara Van der Beek, Huma Bhabha, and Matt Keegan. From June through October 2009, Mary Mattingly lived on the Waterpod, a sculptural autonomous off-the-grid floating island. Mattingly led a team of artists, designers, and builders and worked with the Mayor’s Office of Special Projects and Citywide Events. Sara Van der Beek’s work will be presented in several exhibitions around the world. Over the course of the next year and half, each of VanDerBeek’s representing galleries, D’Amelio Terras, New York, Altman-Siegel, San Francisco, and the Approach, London, will be exhibiting solo shows of the artist’s work. Last April, Matt Keegan was chosen to participate in a major group exhibition at the New Museum titled Younger Than Jesus. The exhibition, also the first edition to the museum’s new signature triennial, “The Generational,” displayed a unique selection of the artist’s dry wall works, one of which was recently acquired by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
