We at Collector Circle are sure you are familiar with the term “Diversify your Investments”. Most people don’t think about “Art” as an investment. We hear about gold, stocks, bonds and real estate as an investment strategy.

Collector Circle believes that art is a valuable global investment. Building an art collection is a unique form of investment in that it gives individuals pleasure and adds beauty and depth to their lives, while serving as a sound investment and an effective form of portfolio diversification.

Today’s art market exceeds $30 billion in annual sales. Most transactions are executed by Galleries and Auctions. Art is considered an asset because works are owned, hold monetary value, and can be exchanged for such value. Because art objects are usually unique (except for additions), art is not a homogenous commodity like stocks or bonds. Art prices are based on supply and demand.

Marcia Eitelberg, President of Collector Circle, started out by collecting art because of a deep seeded passion. Along the way she found that it brought a great deal of investment potential. Her philosophy has always been; “someone bought a Picasso for $500.00 and so can you”. She started Collector Circle 11 years ago, in order to share her knowledge and perception to help others build great collections.

From the beginning we have shown artists that have developed from emerging to established artists. Teaching our collectors to see and recognize stylistic tendencies while identifying their own preferences has been our goal.

Please contact us so we can help you build a great collection while increasing your investment. We have several artists right now that fit this context. Keep in mind that when some of wall streets big firms went belly-up their art collections paid off much of their debt.

Collector Circle was founded in 2002 by Marcia Eitelberg. A graduate of NYU who went on to study Art History. After years of collecting contemporary art, which began in the 1980’s, she became interested in helping others build their collections. Her philosophy has always been, “Someone purchased a Picasso for $500, and so can you!” She realized early on that she had the ability to discover young, emerging talent. Over the last decade, she has introduced to her collectors many young emerging artists who have gone on to be recognized by major museums and galleries.

		<description> OCTOBER 2011

Young Galerists are Transforming New York's Art Scene
The New York Times
October 2, 2011

EXCERPT…
"At the Rachel Uffner Gallery on Orchard Street, about 150 people packed into a space the size of a large one-bedroom apartment and drank from cans of Tsingtao beer. The artist Sara Greenberger Rafferty’s opening show included work made using photographs, Plexiglas and acetate. And she hugged well-wishers that night despite a faulty air-conditioner that left most sticky.

But Ms. Uffner, 33, has more in common with her uptown peers than appearances suggest. Though one gallery owner may show an artist whose work now sells for $25,000 or more and another may show unknown artists whose work still goes largely unnoticed by big-name collectors or established critics, both are part of a new generation of New York gallerists who are slowly transforming the city’s art scene.
“There are new galleries popping up all over,” Ms. Uffner said, taking a break from the evening’s festivities. “People are beginning to recognize we have legitimate places to show.”
When the stock market collapsed in fall 2008, many people feared the art market would be dragged down with it. Butart auction houses, including Christie’s and Sotheby’s, are currently reporting healthy business. Individual prices are often strong: At Phillips de Pury in May, one of Warhol’s famous images of Elizabeth Taylor sold for $26.9 million: about $3 million more than a similar work at the height of the market at Christie’s in 2007. And while Larry Gagosian and other blue-chip dealers continue to dominate sales for the wealthiest collectors, gallery owners who have opened their doors in the past few years seem to be thriving despite the persistent recession."

AMELIE CHABANNES  explores the notion of identity, its various derivations and representations within philosophy, psychology and biometry. Her proteiform body of work lies on a contrasted dialog between the ever-changing psychological identity and the rigid boundaries of physical identification. Chabannes opposes the State’s monopoly over the right to define identity against the extreme complexity of defining ourselves as individuals. In her recent projects, Chabannes brought the psychological exploration of the individual into an in dissociable relation with Archeological Procedures. Her installations stand as sites, her sculptures are submitted to raw and meticulous excavations which debris and features are remains and evidence of our particularity.

Amelie Chabannes was born in Paris, France. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.

LESLIE HEWITT'S  practice responds to an introspective questioning: how can a photograph made in restrained studio conditions with the permutation of limited elements reflect something larger than what is actually pictured? This perspective is amplified, for example by the presence of a worn and occasionally turned copy of the Politics of Protest, 1969, a report researched and compiled by the United States Commission on the Causes and Prevention of Violence, that serves along side other non-descript books to form the structural foundation in each photographed arrangement. Additionally, imagining how such textual references in her compositions stand in relation to the civil resistance movements witnessed earlier this year in North Africa and continued into the Middle East are part of the contemplative undertone of this work.
