Everything is in a precarious state of balance in Erik Benson's most recent series of paintings, made in 2015 and 2016, and collectively titled "Stacks".

His ingenious use of materials is even further expanded with multiple references to urban architecture, it's relationship to nature and the temporal structures that re part of human existence. This body of work includes wonderful connections to art history, teen culture, architecture and graffiti.
